road buildingThe National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) proposes to upgrade the length of NH-275 that stretch between Madikeri in Kodagu and Sampaje in Dakshina Kannada in Karnataka. The total cost of the project is Rs 164 crore.

In order to prevent the traffic disruption due to frequent landslides during monsoon, NHAI intends to erect cement-concrete barriers at three locations and retention walls at four areas along the route.

NHAI also plans to develop a streamlined drainage system by constructing 21 retention walls at the Sampaje Ghat and along the sections of road between Bantwal and Mysuru.
