Global Data Centers & Cloud Infrastructure (NTT GDC & CI) plans to set up a 6 lakh sq ft data centre in New Town’s Bengal Silicon Valley (BSV). Hidco, BSV’s proprietor, expects to invest Rs 890 crore in the project over the next three to five years.
The Kolkata facility will be constructed in three stages. The first phase, consisting of one lakh-square-foot facility, will become operational in 12-13 months. Following that, two additional buildings of 2.5 lakh square feet each would be built.
The company intends to begin the project within three months and have the data centre operational by December 2022. NTT GDC has already acquired a 7.5 acre land for the project.
