Nuberg Engineering Ltd, a global engineering, procurement, fabrication and construction company based in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, has won a major calcium chloride project from Al Ghaith, a diversified business house in UAE, a company release said. The first calcium chloride plant in UAE will have a project capacity of 85 million tpd.
Nuberg has been associated with Al Ghaith and with this new project the total contract value between the two companies is close to $50 million. The agreement for the new project was signed during the inauguration ceremony of the pre-commissioning activities for a chlor-alkali EPC project on the sidelines of ADIPEC 2014 held recently in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The company already has two ongoing EPFC chlor-alkali projects with Al Ghaith.

The fabrication for heavy process equipment will be done at Nuberg’s state-of-the-art manufacturing unit in Gujarat, India.
According to Nuberg, calcium chloride has an essential use in oil and gas industry, for drilling wells and for treating roads. In the oil industry, calcium chloride is used to establish and maintain the oil and gas well. It is used as a completion fluid to secure well casing and to unsettle drilling mud.
