Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil a 216 ft statue of Ramanujacharya at Hyderabad in Telangana state on 5 February 2022. The statue termed as ‘Statue of Equality’ is located in a 45 acre complex at Shamshabad on the outskirts of the city.

Sri Ramanujacharya, a 11th century Bhakti saint, was a revolutionary social reformer. The 216 ft tall statue, one of the tallest statues in a sitting posture, is built to commemorate the 120th birth anniversary of the saint.

The complex has identical recreations of 108 Divya Desams, the 108 ornately carved Vishnu temples. Bhadra Vedi, the 54-foot high base building has dedicated floors for a Vedic digital library and research centre, a theatre, an educational gallery. The Rs 1,000 crore project was funded entirely by donations from devotees globally.

President Ram Nath Kovind will unveil the inner chamber of the statue of Ramanuja on 13 February 2022.
