East Central Railway has invited bids for a major railway infrastructure project estimated at Rs 4,039.75 crore in the Koderma Detour section under the Sonnagar–Andal 3rd and 4th Line project.
The project involves construction of approximately 26 km of new double railway line designed to meet Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) loading standards. The works fall under the Dhanbad Division of East Central Railway.
The scope includes construction of tunnels, viaducts, major and minor bridges, cut-and-cover sections, animal underpasses, road under bridges (RUBs)/limited height subways (LHS), railway buildings, earthwork and retaining structures, along with other associated works.
Tunnel-related works will include excavation of main tunnels, cross passages and escape tunnels, besides drainage, ventilation and other supporting infrastructure. The project is proposed to be executed under the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) mode.
The estimated contract value is Rs 4,039.75 crore, with an earnest money requirement of approximately Rs 80.79 crore. The stipulated completion period is 1,600 days.
The tender was published on 4 September 2026, while the bidding process is scheduled to commence on 22 December 2026. Two pre-bid conferences are scheduled for 29 September and 22 October 2026, and bids can be submitted up to 5 January 2027.
