Vadodara Municipal Corporation is likely to complete Sama indoor sports complex in September 2014. M.V. OMNI PROJECTS (INDIA), an Ahmedabad-based civil & engineering solutions provider, is the civil contractor for the project
The state level sports complex included a Basketball Unit, Swimming Pool Unit, Gymnasium Unit Etc. The project is coming up cover an area of 33,000 Sq Mt, with an investment of Rs. 65 crore.
The sports complex comprises of the following features:
BASKETBALL BUILDING :
- Total area of basketball building is 5525 Sq.Mt
- 3 courts – with turf finish surface ( FIBA APPROVED) for 1 no of Basketball courts & 2 nos of Volleyball coats with th
e total area of arena is 2210 Sq.Mt. (65m x 34m)
- Seating arrangement of 1720 viewers (fixed tip-up type),
- Media Gallery on second level for live coverage of arranged games
- 22 rooms dormitories to accommodate Sports Players
- Warm up area, Separate lockers, showers, toilet blocks & changing rooms for ladies & gents
- 3 Nos. Of Table Tennis Courts & area for Boxing Ring with area of 900 Sq.Mt. with Turf finish surface on upper level of the building with separate sitting arrangement of 272 seats
- 09 nos. of Shops – @ 50 sq.mt. each are provided in the Basketball unit will be a point of attraction for visitors and players as it is on the Main Road of Sama region
ADMINISTRATIVE BUILDING :
- Facilities for Indoor games like Billiards, Chess etc. are provided, Offices for the staff with necessary facilities, Conference Room & Cafeteria
SWIMMING POOL UNIT :
Swimming Pool – 8 Lanes , Racing pool of 50 m x 21 m with sitting arrangement of 360 spectators, Separate sitting arrangement for V.I.P.s, Dormitories to accommodate Sports Players, Facilities of Locker Rooms and Change Rooms
