The Board of Directors of UltraTech Cement, an Aditya Birla Group Cement flagship company, has approved a capex of Rs 12,886 crore towards capacity expansion.
The company will raise the capacity by 22.6 million tpa with a mix of brownfield and greenfield expansion.
This would be achieved by setting-up an integrated and grinding units as well as bulk terminals. The additional capacity will be created across the country.
The company has an existing grey cement capacity of 119.95 million tpa. The existing capacity utilisation is 77 percent.
The proposed capacity will be added in a phased manner by FY25. The investment towards the expansion would be done through a mix of debt/ internal accruals.
UltraTech’s current expansion program is on track and estimated to be completed by the end of FY23.
