Haryana section of Dwarka Expressway to be completed by December

Haryana section of Dwarka Expressway to be completed by DecemberAround 70 percent of the construction work on the 18.9 km stretch of the Dwarka Expressway likely to be completed by December 2022.

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is responsible for the major project. Moreover, the remaining section of the expressway in Delhi will be completed by 2023.

The 29 km route is meant to link Shiv Murti on NH-8 in Mahipalpur in Delhi to Kherki Daula in Gurugram via several sectors of the MIllenium City.

The project worth Rs 9,000 crore would ease travel in NCR and provide an alternative route to commuters between Gurugram and Delhi.

The opening of the Gurugram section of the expressway will ease movement from Kherki Daula to Sectors such as 102, 104, 88, and 10A in the city.

The project was supposed to be completed in two years but work has been delayed due to complications in shifting existing infrastructure on the route, land litigation, lockdowns during the pandemic and a ban on construction because of air pollution.
