According to an answer to an RTI application, between 2009 and February 2014, a total of 165 pilots across the country were found to have high blood alcohol levels during checks. Some attribute this to the fact that there are no traffic police in the sky and that’s why these pilots are getting scot-free.
Poor pilots must be belonging to Kingfisher Airlines who might have been paid salaries in kind by their employer.
One suggestion: along with weather conditions, passengers in the flight should also be briefed about the alcohol level in the pilot’s blood.
