Aditya Aluminium Project being set up by Aditya Birla group company, Hindlaco Industries Ltd, is likely to go on stream this month. The integrated Greenfield aluminium complex includes a 4.2 million TPA bauxite mine, 1.5 million TPA alumina refinery at Kansariguda and a 359 KTPA smelter at Lapanga in Odisha.
Aditya Aluminium Project is also backed with 900 MW captive thermal power plant and has access to captive coal from Talabira-2 coal block a JV between Mahanadi Coalfields and Neyveli Lignite Corporation. However, coal supply from the mine may be delayed due to recent controversy.
Aditya Aluminium Project is estimated to cost Rs 13,195 crore. Hindalco had tied up a common rupee loan agreement for Rs. 9,896 crore a year ago with 28 banks and financial institutions to fund the project.
