European slowdown has taken its toll not only on its citizens but also on their pets. According to a report, in the UK dog theft has increased manifold leading to public outcry against authorities to take stern action against the culprits. Many owners have paid hefty ransoms to release their pets from dognappers which made them realise the fact that the pets are more valuable than what many carry in their purses or pockets. If the trend continues, pickpockets and chain snatchers may soon switch over to the new profession.

On the other hand, former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, under whose regime kidnapping for ransom had become rampant in Bihar, is proudly saying, “Look, at least I could protect pets. These Brits can’t do even that!”

Now animal lovers are planning to demand special protection for pets – just like Z plus category granted to some of our leaders!
