Bypass

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shri. Nitin Gadkari inaugurated the four-lane Section between Nagaon Bypass-Teliagaon, and Teliagaon-Rangagara and laid the foundation for Mangaldai Bypass and the four-lane section between Daboka-Parakhuwa in Assam, in the presence of Chief Minister Shri Himanta Biswa Sarma through video conferencing today. These four projects are worth Rs 1,450 crores.

The 18 Km long four-lane section between Nagaon Bypass-Teliagaon and Teliagaon-Rangagara was built at a cost of Rs 403 Crore. This widened highway would enhance accessibility between North Assam and Upper Assam.

The Union Minister also laid the foundation stones for the construction of a 15 km bypass in Mangaldai on NH 15 at a total cost of Rs 535 crores and for a 13 km long bypass between Daboka and Parakhuwa on NH-29 to be built at a total cost of 517 Crores. The bypasses would enhance inter-regional connectivity between Assam and the neighbouring states.

NHAI is executing 12 highway projects in the North-East region of India with a total investment of Rs 42,826 crore. Of this, nine projects worth Rs 42,274 crore are in Assam. Three of these projects are currently under execution.
