The government of Andhra Pradesh has decided to provide 30 lakh houses to economically weaker sections (EWS) with world-class ‘Indo-Swiss energy-efficient building technology’ in Vijaywada.
This will help in considerably reducing temperatures inside the houses, enhance thermal comfort (cooling) and substantial reduction in energy consumption. The State Cabinet took the decision to construct 30 lakh houses for EWS in 14,097 YSR Jagananna colonies.
The 30 lakh houses will be constructed for EWS in next four years starting April 2020.
The project will be undertaken by the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) of the Swiss Confederation and assistance of the Andhra Pradesh State Energy Conservation Mission (APSECM), the state-designated agency for Energy Efficiency of Andhra Pradesh.
