Land acquisition has commenced for the proposed industrial park at Kosalanagaram village in Vijayapuram mandal of Nagari Assembly constituency in Andhra Pradesh, with revenue officials accelerating the process to facilitate infrastructure development and improve connectivity.
The State government has issued orders transferring approximately 1,541.41 acres of land to the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) for the development of the industrial park.
The proposed project is expected to strengthen industrial development in the Nagari region and generate new economic opportunities in the surrounding areas. Its strategic location near the industrial belt of northern Tamil Nadu and the Chennai metropolitan region is expected to attract manufacturing units, logistics companies, warehouses and export-oriented industries.
Chittoor District Collector Sumit Kumar said the government was keen on establishing an industrial park close to the Tamil Nadu border. He added that the administration was focusing on ensuring land availability and improving road connectivity to enable the project to progress without unnecessary delays.
Joint Collector Adarsh Rajendran recently inspected the land identified by APIIC and reviewed the connectivity infrastructure required for the project. The proposed site is also expected to benefit from its proximity to Chennai International Airport, located approximately 70 km away.
Besides attracting large industrial investments, the park could support the development of ancillary industries and service enterprises in sectors such as packaging, transportation, warehousing and equipment maintenance.
Once developed, the industrial park is expected to stimulate economic activity, support industrial expansion and create employment opportunities across the surrounding villages.
