Bhubaneswar: Global hospitality major Accor has marked its entry into Bhubaneswar with the opening of Novotel Bhubaneswar, a five-star property developed by AK Das Associates. Located on Janpath, one of the prominent areas of the Odisha capital, the hotel is expected to strengthen the city’s growing tourism and hospitality infrastructure.
The new property was inaugurated by Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, who said the investment would provide further momentum to the state’s tourism and hospitality sector.
Parida highlighted the Odisha Tourism (Amendment) Policy, 2026, saying the policy seeks to simplify investment norms and enhance financial incentives for tourism projects. The initiatives are part of the state’s broader efforts to position Odisha as a leading tourism destination under Vision-2036 and Vision-2047.
Amiya Kanta Das, Chairman and Managing Director of AK Das Associates, thanked the state government for its support in developing the tourism and hospitality sector.
Vineet Mishra, Vice-President, Accor, said Odisha has significant tourism potential and that the company is looking to expand its presence in the state to cater to growing demand.
Novotel Bhubaneswar features 118 rooms, including superior and executive rooms and suites. The hotel also offers approximately 12,000 sq ft of social and event spaces designed for weddings, corporate gatherings, conferences and other social functions.
The property houses Food Exchange, an all-day dining restaurant offering international and regional cuisine, along with Tea & Tonic, a space for beverages and refreshments. Its E2O – East Essence, Pan Asian Kitchen & Bar is set to offer Asian cuisine and provide an additional dining destination in the city.
According to Neelabh Sahay, General Manager, Novotel Bhubaneswar, the property has been designed to cater to the requirements of modern travellers, combining contemporary accommodation, meeting facilities and hospitality services.
