Work to begin soon on Kedarnath, Hemkund Sahib ropeway projects

Work to begin soon on Kedarnath, Hemkund Sahib ropeway projectsThe work on the two ropeway projects, Sonprayag to Kedarnath and Govind Ghat to Hemkund Sahib will begin soon.

The detailed project report (DPR) for both the projects have been prepared. The Sonprayag-Kedarnath project will cost around Rs 1,200 crore and will be 13 km long.

The Govind Ghat-Hemkund Sahib project will cost Rs 850 crore and its length will be 12.5 km.

Under the Kedarnath ropeway project, 26.43 ha of forest land is to be transferred to the state government, while around 27.4782 ha forest land for Govindghat-Hemkund Sahib project.

Both projects have been cleared by the State Wildlife Board and have been sent to the National Wildlife Board for approval.
