Complex G+6 Multi-Storey Process Building Completed for Godrej Agrovet Ltd in Andhra Pradesh

Project Detail: India imports a significant quantity of palm oil to meet the growing demand for edible oil. Godrej Agrovet Ltd is among the largest oil palm producers in India and work directly with the farmers for the entire lifecycle of their crop. Over the years, they have developed more than 61,700 ha of plantations across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Goa, Maharashtra and Mizoram. To cater to the growing demand for edible Oil, a Greenfield capacity expansion was planned near the palm oil field in Chintalapudi Mandal , Andhra Pradesh by Godrej Agrovet Ltd.

Everest Scope:  Everest Industries Ltd, India’s leading Integrated Pre-Engineered Steel Building Company was chosen after a stringent process of short listing by the company to execute their complex Greenfield expansion project for a Palm oil manufacturing unit for Godrej Agrovet Ltd.  The scope of work for Everest Industries Ltd included design & engineering, manufacturing, logistics and erection of 7 buildings spreads over an area of over 9,550 sq mtr.

Erection Challenge: Once the material reached the site, a very challenging situation was faced; all the machinery required for the manufacturing process of oil was already installed. There was no direct access to the location where we had to install the buildings. On the front side, Ash handling building with a very high chimney was already installed, on the rear side turbine foundation work was done and on the rear side a building was already constructed.

 Everest Innovation: To ensure, timely completion of the project Everest Industries Ltd came out with a solution to do the complete installation of the building from outside using cranes. For this purpose two 180 MT cranes were used to complete the erection work on time. The material was lifted to a height of 40 mtr to complete the boiler house building. During erection to ensure safety of workers, before start of the work, safety briefing was carried out for workers and training was given to them for working at height. It was made mandatory for all workers to wear PPE equipment and to do erection work only when they were properly attached to safety harnesses.

End Result: Everest industries Ltd delivered a very complex 34.8 mtr high G+6 multi-storey process plant for Godrej Agrovet under difficult site conditions with full compliance of safety.
