New Delhi, 13th March 2019: With an aim to combat increasing temperatures during the upcoming summer season, Orient Bell Limited, one of the largest manufacturers of ceramic, wall, floor and vitrified tiles have come out with Cool Tiles that has technology especially curated for summer season to help maintain the rising temperature in-house.

Cool Tiles reflect the suns heat instead of absorbing it. This further helps keep the inside of the building cooler. The tiles show best results when applied to building terraces, exterior walls exposed to sunlight, pavements and balconies as it has been designed to reflect more sunlight and absorb less heat than a normal surface. The Indian Green Building Council uses SRI as a way to evaluate a cool roof surfaces which are heat resistant and recommend shaving a minimum SRI value of 78 to keep the indoors cool and reduce air conditioning and electricity consumption.

Orient Bell Limited’s Cool Tiles have an amazing Solar Reflective Index (SRI) value of 103. These tiles are a better alternative to putting broken tiles or leftover tiles as they also provide long term benefits. Cool tiles help reduce the overall expenses of keeping the homes cool throughout the summer season. They reflect solar heat which helps bring the inside building temperature down up to 7-8 degree celsius, reducing cooling requirements and saving costs while helping in the fight against global warming. The SRI measures the roofs ability to reject solar heat (reflectance) and the ability to emit heat. The technology works by using zirconium and other materials in the glaze used on tile surface. A special process to fuse these minerals in the glaze to create a special intricate structure has been devised.

The Orient Bell Limited’s Cool tiles are available in white and matt finish. The product promises several benefits along with its outstanding designs, namely, better indoor comfort, reduced electricity consumption, lower emission of greenhouse and CFC gases and reduced load of cooling appliances. Cool Tiles on the roof of a building can further reduce inside building temperature by 10 to 20 degree centigrade.

Mr. Aditya Gupta, Chief Executive Officer, Orient Bell Limited said, “Realizing the soaring temperature of our country, we tried to reduce the problem of our consumers with our patent pending cool tiles. We believe in providing solutions to the problems that can make a large difference and provide some respite to our customers.”
