Dr. V. Jothiprakash is Associate Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Bombay since 2009. He did his Doctorate in Philosophy from IIT Chennai in 2000 and obtained his graduation Degree in Engineering from University of Madras in 1990 and post-graduation from Anna University in 1994.
Prior to his current tenure Dr. Jothiprakash worked as assistant professor in IIT Bombay from 2005 to 2009 and in National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli for five months in 2005 and senior lecturer in NIT, Tiruchirappalli, for more than a year in 2004. He also worked as lecturer in Regional Engineering College, Tiruchirappalli, for four years from 2000 to 2004.
Dr. Jothiprakash has been awarded and honoured with several awards such as the best paper by Institution of Engineers (India) during the 28th Indian Engineering Congress, Chennai, in December 2013; R.J. Garde Research Award 2013 by Indian Society for Hydraulics, Pune, during Hydro-2013 international conference held at IIT Madras, Chennai, in December 2013; ISTE-Maharashtra State National Award for Research Work in Engineering and Technology for the Year 2011 by ISTE in December 2011 at Fategarh, Punjab; and INAE Young Engineer Award 2004 by Indian National Academy of Engineering in December 2004 among others.
He has been the principal investigator for many water supply works and solid wastewater management projects under JNNURM. He is also Editorial Member, International Journal of Ground Water Research.
