The new solar power policy of Uttar Pradesh aims to install 22,000 MW capacities in the next five years.
The state aims to achieve this target through construction of solar parks (14,000 MW), rooftop solar (4,500 MW), non-residential rooftop (1,500 MW) and 2,000 MW through the PM Kusum Yojana.
Under the Uttar Pradesh Solar Policy-2022, the state government will pay a grant of Rs eight crore per year till the policy is in effect, or Rs 4,000 crore over a five-year period.
