Punj Lloyd has received two contracts for village electrification works from NTPC. Together valued at Rs.483 crore, the orders relate to rural electrification works in the Puri and Koraput districts of Odisha and fall under the Centrally-sponsored Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutkaran Yojana.
The scope of work for these two projects includes supply and erection for the rural electrification work for construction/augmentation of substations, installation of distribution transformers and providing service connections to below poverty line (BPL) consumers around the district.
These projects have come in quick succession of Punj Lloyd’s debut in the power T&D space with two similar village electrification orders received from Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd, also in Odisha. These orders were announced in early October this year. Both the NTPC and PGCIL mandates are together worth around Rs.1,000 crore.
