The Uttar Pradesh government has acquired about 95 percent of the land required for 595 km Ganga Expressway project.
In addition, 77 percent of the land clearing and grubbing has already been completed, and the project has already acquired environmental and forest clearances.
Meanwhile, more than 52 percent of the utility relocation has been completed. Additionally, separate engineers were hired for each of the four expressway groups.
To ensure quicker completion of the civil works, the access-controlled, six-lane (extendable to eight-lane) greenfield Ganga Expressway project has been divided into four groups with three packages each, totalling to 12 packages.
The expressway project is estimated to be commissioned in the next 36 months i.e. by November 2025.
