Railways South Western Railway has begun work on reconstructing Bengaluru’s Yeshwantpur Railway Station. The delayed station upgradation project is now expected to be ready by June 2025.

The contract for the station upgradation was awarded to Girdhari Lal Construction on 18 October 2022. The total cost of the project is estimated at Rs. 380 crore.

The first phase of the project has already started and the site office has been built. The contract has been executed in EPC mode.

On completion the station would have capacity to accommodate more than one lakh passengers per day compared to the current capacity of 60,000 per day.
