Easun Reyrolle Ltd is planning
to set up a manufacturing
facility in Bengaluru, Karnataka,
with an investment of
around Rs 100 crore. The facility
will manufacture intelligent solid
insulated switchgear (i-SIS). With
this, the company's subsidiary,
Switchcraft Europe, Gmbh of Germany,
will establish a base in
India for assembling its
patented product for
select markets.
Once the facility starts commercial
operations, the company
will go in for development under
phase-II at an estimated cost of
Rs 150 crore. The expansion will,
however, depend on demand
from customers.
"With surplus cash available
we have the capacity to invest
about Rs 200 crore without
diluting stake," Hari
Easwaran, Chairman, Easun
Reyrolle, told newspersons.
i-SIS is the switchgear (up to
40.5 kV) with the smallest footprint
in the world can reduce the
footprint to 50 per cent of gas insulated
switchgear. Safe from fire,
explosion and water, i-SIS is considered
a replacement for the GIS
globally. It is used in all
applications where space
is critical like metros, windmill
applications, offshore platforms
and refineries.
Easun Reyrolle won the award
for the Overall Best Product Displayed
by an overseas or Indian
exhibitor at Elecrama-2010 in
Mumbai for the revolutionary
intelligent solid insulated
switchgear. This innovative and
pathbreaking product, developed
by Switchcraft Europe, was
launched for the first time in the
world at Elecrama.
